1 Teaspoon Nutmeg
2 Teaspoons Cinnamon
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
½ Cup Light Brown Sugar
2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
½ Cup Greek Yogurt
3 Medium Eggs
¾ Cups Whole Milk
1 ½ Cups Apples, finely chopped
Brown Butter Glaze
¼ Cup Unsalted Butter
¼ Cup Light Brown Sugar
3 Tablespoons Whole Milk
¼ Cup Powdered Sugar
Instructions
Apple Cake:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Prepare a 9-inch round baking pan with cooking spray and parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine Caputo "00" Baking Flour, nutmeg, cinnamon, salt, baking soda, and baking powder.
- In a separate bowl, mix the brown sugar, vanilla, Olitalia Extra Virgin Olive Oil, yogurt, eggs, and milk.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined, then fold in the chopped apples.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until the cake is cooked through.
- While the cake is cooling, prepare the glaze.
Brown Butter Glaze:
- In a saucepan over medium heat, add the butter and allow it to melt. Continue to cook until the milk solids turn light golden brown.
- Once the butter has browned, add the brown sugar and mix until smooth.
- Turn off the heat and stir in the milk and powdered sugar. Mix until smooth.
- Top the cooled cake with the warm brown butter glaze.
