Irish Soda Bread

The Best Irish Soda Bread— perfectly dense, rustic, with a crisp crust and soft crumb. Made even better with Caputo "00" flour for a perfect texture. A must-try recipe!

Ingredients

1 Cup Raisins
1 Teaspoon Salt
¼ Cup Granulated Sugar
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
1 Stick Cold Butter, cubed
1 Cup Buttermilk
1 Cup Milk
Butter to serve

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine Caputo “00” Chef’s Flour, raisins, salt, sugar, baking soda, and baking powder. Add in cubed butter and smash with a fork in the flour or press through the flour with your hands.
  3. Next, add buttermilk and milk. Mix, then knead slightly until the dough forms and shape it into a round loaf.
  4. Place dough on a piece of parchment, then into a Dutch oven uncovered.
  5. Bake for 55-60 minutes.
  6. Serve with butter.
