Ingredients

2 Cups (375g) Strawberries
1 Cup (170g) Raspberries
1 Cup (170g) Blackberries
3/4 - 1 Cup (186g) Granulated White Sugar, per your preferance
1 Large Lime, or 2 Small (2 oz, 50 mL)

Instructions

Measure and Prepare Ingredients

  1. Wash fruit and pat them dry. Be sure not to let the fruit soak in water.
  2. Cut the stems of the strawberries and dice them into halves or quarters.
  3. Measure the sugar and set it aside. You can always start with less and add, but never take away!
  4. Juice lime(s) and set aside.

Over the Stovetop

  1. Place a medium sauce pan or small pot over medium-low heat.
  2. Combine all the fruit, sugar, and lime juice in the pan.
  3. Stir continuously and mash the fruit with a spatula as it softens.
  4. Let this simmer down for 35-45 minutes until a jammy texture is almost achieved.
  5. While your jam simmers, place a sterile jar or container in the fridge for 15-20 minutes.

Jarring and Cooling

  1. Remove your pan from the heat and let it cool on the stovetop for 5 minutes.
  2. Once slightly cooled, pour your jam into the cold jar and let rest overnight.

Notes:

  • Resting is optional, Jam can be served both hot and cold.
  • Be sure to use a sterile jar or container.
  • Try not to let the berries soak in water; this may cause them to become oversaturated.
  • Extra sugar can be added depending on the ripeness of the fruit.
  • You can substitute frozen fruit or add more sugar as needed.
