Classic Pumpkin Bread

This old family recipe has stood the test of time and is one of our favorite Autumnal eats!

Ingredients

Pumpkin Bread
3 cups sugar, granulated
3 large eggs
16oz can of pumpkin puree
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt, fine
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Optional
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
1 cup vegetable oil instead of Frienn

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Butter and flour two 9x5x3in loaf pans
  3. Beat the sugar and Frienn High Oleic Sunflower Oil in a large bowl.
  4. Mix in the eggs and pumpkin.
  5. In a separate bowl, sift the Caputo "00" Chef's Flour, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, salt, and baking powder and mix together.
  6. In 2 additions, add the dry mixture to the pumpkin mixture. Be careful not to over-mix.
  7. If using walnuts, mix them in now.
  8. Divide the batter into the prepared pans.
  9. Bake for about 1 hour and 10 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
